Walker Kalan is a writer, director, and producer whose work spans across genres and audiences, from comedy to drama and commercial to art house. His indie comedy series I NEED YOUR LOVE premiered at Tribeca in 2024 and received a grand jury award at Slamdance 2025. It was released online this fall and has already garnered over a million views. His short film CIELA received the top jury award at the Brooklyn Film Festival and was named Best Foreign Film at HollyShorts. 

Most recently, Walker completed the short film CHILDREN & ANIMALS, a docufiction shot entirely on 16mm with a cast of non-professional actors and hundreds of animals at a historic country fair in Maine, which will play festivals next year. He’s currently developing ADVANTAGE, a White Lotus-style black comedy drama set at the US Open Tennis Tournament, and WHO’S SORRY NOW?, a biopic of Connie Francis, the legendary singer and first woman to ever top the Billboard Hot 100. 

Walker earned his MFA in playwriting from NYU Tisch, where he completed his thesis under Annie Baker. He is based in Brooklyn.
